Meet the Staff - Judi Pheil, Technician
Born
in San Francisco, I attended Lowell High School and then on to San Francisco
City College where I received an AS in Medical Assisting. For over 10
years I worked for 4 Orthopedic Surgeons in San Francisco but decided
to move from human medicine to the horse world.
I worked as an Assistant Trainer for Nan Kreeger for over ten years
and it was through Nan that I met the folks from Peninsula Equine. When
my job with Nan was getting ready to end, Russ and Jan talked to me
about working at the Practice. This got me back into medicine but horse
medicine. Five years later I'm still going strong!
Being around horses and staying in the medical field while learning
all the time is what I love! Caring for sick horses, watching
them get better and return to their owners is a great feeling and one
of the things that gets me up each morning. Even during the winters,
which can be rough, I really enjoy working outdoors. I'm lucky to work
with great people and great doctors plus I am able to bring "Emma" my
Golden Retriever who is a wonderful clinic dog. She enjoys the clients
and loves being up close and friendly with the horses. She seems to
have developed a sense of when she needs to be quiet and when she can
interact with them.
When I happen to have spare time I love interior design and enjoy helping
friends with their decorating and design challenges. I keep in shape
by exercising, doing Pilates and taking Emma for long walks. I especially
enjoy my time with family and friends on the weekends and love vacations
that include lots of sun!
