Meet the Staff - Janet Peterson, Hospital Administrator

I grew up locally in Palo Alto and began my lifelong relationship with horses as a child right here at Webb Ranch. I used to hang out all day long catching rides and being with the horses. For me there was nothing more important than riding horses all day long!

I remained involved with horses during my years at Cal Poly where I studied biochemistry and animal science and during my senior year, I was fortunate to get a job with a cow-calf operation. Once again my childhood dreams came true because at this job I was able to ride horses all day long!

After graduation I was recruited by my husband to help build a hospital & clinic and in 1992, after 12 months of hard work, we opened the doors! Since that time I've been everything from janitor to anesthesiologist, technician to bookkeeper. Watching the practice grow from one doctor to 6 (at its largest) was one of the greatest rewards of all the hard work that we put into the practice.

Over the years I've met so many wonderful horses and their people, worked with compassionate & caring group of professionals and had the opportunity to be a part of saving lives on a regular basis.

Now, over 13 years later I've decided to shift my focus to human medicine and have just started a graduate program in Nursing at USF. Although I will remain involved with the practice I am excited about human medicine. I still own a Quarter horse that competes in Western Riding at AQHA shows and this allows me to keep my hand in riding and showing as much as I can. At the end of the day when I'm on my horse I become that kid who just wanted to ride horses all day long!
