Isle! Summers spend on my Uncle's farm prompted my early love
of animals and my decision to become a vet.

I was Born in Kortrijk, Belgium, where I spent most of my youth. It was at an early age that I was introduced into the world of horses. It soon became a passion, a passion I took over from my mother. I spent most of my weekends and vacations in the equestrian centre, where I started breaking and training horses for eventing

I grew up in Marin County before moving to Seattle to complete my undergraduate education. The constant Seattle rain was perfect for convincing my husband why California was a far better place to live.

I went to vet school at Oklahoma State University and joined the Pen Eq
team in July of ’07. I love living in northern California because it’s
such a beautiful area and there are so many things to do here. Also,
people here really enjoy their horses and take excellent care of them.

Born in Michigan, I grew up in the Bay Area. As a licensed CA
Paramedic I worked in Solan Co., San Joaquin Co., Contra Costa Co. as a
field medic for 10 years. I've also been a veterinary tech for
large and small animals over the past 20 years.

Born in San Francisco, I attended Lowell Highand City College receiving
an AS in Medical Assisting. For over 10 years I worked for 4
Orthopedic Surgeons in San Francisco but decided to move from human
medicine to the horse world.

Juan Martinez, Maintenance
I was born in Jumiltepec Mexico and have 6 sisters and 3 brothers. I
went to High School and studied electronics so I could fix televisions
and radios. When I came to Peninsula Equine I began fixing things and
now I'm helping fix things with four legs!

Born in Jumiltepec Mexico, I have 6 sisters and 3 brothers (one is Juan
who works here too.) This past summer I was very happy to get my
Visa so I could come to work in California with my brother. I am
working hard to h'abla Ingles... learn English.

Born in San Jose, CA. I have been obsessed with horses since I was a
little girl. I talked my mom into putting me in riding lessons at
Garrod Farm's at a very young age. Since then I have been trying to
save every horse in the world one at a time.

Randi fell in love with horses after her first riding lesson at age 11 and has been passionate about them ever since. After practicing law for several years, Randi decided to change careers and follow her passion.

Amanda Maffei, Office Administrator
Born and raised just 15 miles north of Portola Valley...loved the area
and didn't want to leave. While going to college I became a
working student for Flying Tails Farms at the Portola Valley Training
Center.
