Meet the Staff - Amanda Maffei, Office Administrator

Born and raised just 15 miles north of Portola Valley...loved the area and didn't want to leave.   While going to college I became a working student for Flying Tails Farms at the Portola Valley Training Center. After years of being on the property I became friends with everyone at the clinic and now I've been working here on and off for 7 years!

I love the fact that I see horses all day, look outside my office window and see hills, plants and no pavement or traffic! It's very peaceful!

Although I don't ride now, I competed in 3-day eventing since I was 13 yrs old. Through the years I've had 3 horses, "POD" a Quarter horse, "Royal" a Thoroughbred and "Zephyr" a Belgium Warmblood. On Royal I was able to compete at Intermediate Level before retiring him. I do miss the rush from competing but hope to get back to it some day.

When I'm not here making appointments I like to water-ski, scuba and take long vacations!
