Ambulatory Services

Peninsula Equine currently operates six stocked vehicles fully equipped to handle routine and emergency veterinary care allowing us to bring the expertise of our veterinarians directly to the horses we tend to. The ambulatory service routinely provides a wide range of services from lameness to emergencies, to preventative health programs, including state of the art dentistry. Our fleet covers emergencies at all time of day or night, every day of the year & sees appointments Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm and Saturdays from 10am-4pm.

Wellness Care: We offer routine wellness care to the San Francisco peninsula, the Gilroy/Hollister area, and beyond. From vaccines and deworming to semiannual wellness examinations, routine visits by a veterinarian can diagnose problems earlier or prevent illness from even occuring. Call us for more information about the wellness package that suits your horse best.

Satellite Clinic: We are opening a satellite clinic in the Gilroy area where we will soon be able to offer full emergency coverage as well as our regular services. Surgeries and Scintigraphy (bone scans) will continue to be done at our main hospital in Menlo Park.

Emergency Preparedness: We are pleased to offer microchipping clinics as a way for all horse owners to have their horses prepared for identification in the case of an emergency or disaster that precipitates your horse being separated from you. We are happy to assist you in developing evacuation strategies for you barn and supplying you with contacts within your county for you to discuss your specific area emergency preparedness plans.

Out of Area: If you are located outside our immediate area but are looking for quality veterinary care, you can always trailer your horse to our facility. Additionally, if you require a veterinarian for non-urgent care (lameness, dentistry, etc.) we will gladly schedule a day at your facility. Please call to inquire.
